Covid 19 Protocol

Covid 19 Return to Play Protocol


General Guidelines

  • Any player, parent, coach, referee, etc. should refrain from participation if they are experiencing any of established COVID-19 symptoms, including but not limited to mild-to-severe respiratory illness with fever, cough, and difficulty breathing or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days. 

    • If any player, parent, coach, referee, etc. has a fever of 100.3, they are prohibited from returning to practice or gameplay until there has been no fever for 72 hours without the use of a fever reducer.

  • Players, coaches, and officials are to eliminate traditional post-game handshakes, fist bumps, etc. encourage teams to come up with creative ways to show sportsmanship to their opponents after the game has finished.

  • After practices, leave the field (or immediate area of activity) as soon as reasonably possible, avoiding congregating and minimizing extra-curricular or other social activity.

  • After games, vacate the immediate area of the field to allow arrival of other teams.

  • No sharing of equipment and gear ( e.g., balls, water bottles, goalie gloves, shin guards or shirts).

  • All players, parents, coaches, referees, etc. shall adhere to all state and local guidelines concerning face coverings while at the Field Of Dreams.

Coaches 

  • Encourage, engage in and maintain social distancing while not actively engaged in play (e.g., during practices, on sidelines).  

  • Encourage anyone feeling sick to stay home. Be aware of the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 while at practice and on game day.

  • Keep hand sanitizer on hand of at least 70% alcohol and encourage players to wash/sanitize hands frequently. 

  • No spitting and encourage players to cover their coughs and sneezes with tissue or inside of their elbow. Wash hands afterwards or use hand sanitizer.

  • Suggest parents to bring 2 different solid color shirts to practice. No pinnies are to be used.

  • If injury occurs during game play, request a parent of the same household to help if deemed necessary. 

  • Only coaches are to set up and retrieve training equipment used during practice (e.g., cones, hurdles, agility ladders etc.).

  • When lines or grouping of players are necessary for a particular activity, ensure that it is designed to allow appropriate spacing between players.

Parents / Players 

  • Clean and disinfect equipment and gear after every practice or game. (e.g., soccer balls, water bottles, goalie gloves and clothing)

  • Adhere to social distancing protocols whenever possible.

  • Please stay in your vehicle with child or children until the coach arrives or until proper time of practice or game to minimize the amount of people at the fields.  

  • Label all equipment with your child’s full name. (e.g., water bottle, bag and ball). No sharing of water bottles. We recommend the players come to games and practices with a bag to keep their equipment separate from the group.  

Board Members/Volunteers

  • Display signage clearly visible to encourage social distancing as spectators on the sidelines as well as around the concession stand and high traffic areas.

  • Trash to be removed after each event make sure to use trash bags in all containers to control contamination. 

  • Provide trash bags and/or hand sanitizer to coaches if needed.

  • Hand sanitizer will be readily available at each field during game play. 

  • Schedule games to limit the number of teams at the fields at any particular time (Stagger start times, all fields will not be in use simultaneously).
